Description

Cargo tries to be all things to all people - a restaurant, a live music venue, a club, a bar - it manages to do them all passably well, but the Shoreditch-cool kids are always after the latest trend and Cargo is always coming up with inventive ways of breaking the mould and holding the attention of public.

The vibe at Cargo is chilled out and relaxed, though not as trendy as it once was. The Shoreditch location gives away which clientele to expect - skinny jeans and Converse trainers are the order of the day, best go for a student retro look rather than appearing over-dressed, although you´ll spot the after-work crowd in here, too. The bar staff can sometimes be sullen and look like they´d rather be somewhere else, but they tend to get friendlier as the night goes on.

Placed under the Kingsland viaduct, it is no surprise the theme that Cargo has undertaken. Just along from the Bedroom Bar, the Comedy cafe and the rest of Hoxton´s bars, Cargo is a place you must try at least once. Some people take a disliking to Cargo because it seems quite dark and dingy, and some are put off by the odd ´nutter´ roaming around. However, whether you chill by the bar or head into the crowded dance floor section, you´ll probably end up coming back for more whether it´s your cup of tea or not. Most nights a small entrance fee is charged, but then again, most nights it´s worth it!

Clubs in area are founded upon style, so don´t expect five star food and drink, although it ain´t bad, its the crowd, music and minimalist; urban-chic decor that makes this place stand out as quality venue.
